The Ganesha Purana contains fascinating stories and various names of Ganpati. Along with this, Ganpati temples have also been given various names based on their location and the names of those who built the temples. However, in the village of Dabhade in Ardhapur taluka of Nanded district, there is a temple where the wishes expressed by devotees come true. Therefore, this Ganpati has received the name Satya Ganpati. This place is known as a Siddhasthan (a spiritually awakened shrine) in Marathwada.
It is said that this shrine is about three hundred to three hundred and fifty years old. In those days, a self-manifested stone idol of Ganesha appeared under a Peepal tree near the village. People from the village used to come for the darshan of this Ganpati. Devotees began to experience that this Ganpati fulfills vows. Gradually, the fame of this Ganpati spread first in the taluka and then in the district. In the year 1993, the Satya Ganpati temple was built under this Peepal tree. A legend is told about the temple that the very Peepal tree under which Ganpati appeared bears both Peepal and Banyan leaves on the same branch. The Peepal leaf comes with a stalk, while the Banyan leaf has no stalk. This is considered a divine miracle here.
There is a welcome arch in front of the temple located at the entrance of Dabhade village. On the way from here to the temple, there are many shops selling worship materials. In the spacious paved courtyard of the temple, there is a completely enclosed well. A darshan mandap has been erected for the convenience of devotees by placing a tin roof on iron pillars in the courtyard. Adjacent to the darshan mandap, under the Peepal tree, is the temple newly built in the year 1993, and the structure of the temple consists of a sabhamandap and a garbhagriha. The sabhamandap, which is at a higher level than the courtyard, has three entrances, and there are five steps in front of each of the three entrances. There are safety railings on both sides of the steps. The enclosed sabhamandap has windows for air and light. Queue management has been arranged in the sabhamandap by installing stainless steel safety railings. One can go to the Satya Ganpati under the Peepal tree behind the temple through the door at the back of the sabhamandap.
The ten-day Ganeshotsav in the month of Bhadrapada is celebrated in the temple with great devotion. During these ten days, programs such as Maha-Abhishek of Ganesha, Ganesh Yag, Atharvashirsha recitation, Bhajans, Kirtans, and Mahaprasad are organized in the temple. At this time, thousands of devotees from the states of Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka come for the darshan of the deity and to fulfill their vows. Offerings such as Modaks, garlands of coconuts, crowns, clothes, Durva grass, and Hibiscus flowers are offered to the deity. On days like Ganesh Jayanti, Sankashti Chaturthi, Tuesdays, Angarki Chaturthi, and Vinayaki, the number of devotees coming here for darshan is in the thousands. Devotees can have the darshan of Satya Ganpati in this temple every day from 7 in the morning to 9 at night.
