A huge Moorti of Ganesha lying at a corner in the open museum in Ashapuri, MP. Notice the lower base of the moorti that has sculptures of devotees (a couple) praying and few devotees playing musical instruments (dhol and bansuri). This open museum has ruins of four ancient temples dating back to 1000 to 1800 plus years from the region.
The temples, all destroyed, razed to the ground with idols and sculptures broken by Islamic plunderers, were built by Gurjar Pratihars and Paramaras. Signs of desecration are visible in this Moorti too. #ashapuri #mp #madhyapradesh #india #lost #temple #temples #losttemples #lost_temples
