Thank You @one_life_just_travel for contributing this wonderful photo. The Thiksey Monastry is located on the top of hill of 3600m altitiude in Thiksey village near Leh. This #thikseymonastery which almost looks like a kingdom in itself houses a number of thankas, stupas, paintings and statues. It has an interesting anecdote of how it was built.. it is said that when two Buddhist monks offered prayers and rituals at the yellow temple were about to make an offering to the God into the valley, a crow took away the cake and place it on a hilltop. They assumed this a divine order and built the monastry here.
