Siddhatek Temple Ahmednagar

Siddhatek Siddhivinayak Temple is the temple of Lord Ganesha which considers as the second temple visited by devotees who set out on the Ashtavinayak Yatra. The temple is located on the northern bank of the river Bhima in Siddhatek village in the Karjat taluka of Ahmednagar district of Indian state of Maharashtra. Siddhatek Siddhivinayak Temple is only Ashtavinayaka shrine in Ahmednagar district. The temple hall was built by a landlord of Baroda. It was broken in 1939 and rebuilt in 1970 by devotees of Ganesha.

Siddhivinayak Temple is the only Ashtavinayaka temple located in the district of Ahmednagar. The Ashtavinayaka Temples are:

The original Siddhivinayak Temple was believed to be built by Lord Vishnu, and it was destroyed over time. And later, the vision of idol was found by a cowherd and soon people came to worship the shrine. The present structure of the temple was built in 1700’s by Ahilyabai Holkar, was the Holkar Queen of the Maratha ruled Malwa kingdom. There is a Nagarkhana (chamber) in the temple which stores Nagaras (kettle drums) and there is also a covered pathway to the main entrance of the temple, which was built by Sardar Haripant Phadke, an authority official with the Peshwa rulers.

The original temple is believed to be built by Vishnu and it was destroyed over time. The idol is Gajmukh, however, the belly of the idol is not big. Riddhi & Siddhi are sitting on each lap of Vinayaka. The face is very calm & serene. The Siddhivinayak temple at Siddhatek is on a hill and faces the north. Siddhatek temple trust is under control of Chinchwad Temple Trust. After taking bath, only a few selected people can worship the idol by touching it. A beautiful temple of Goddess Yamai at Rashin is just 22 kilometers from Siddhatek is the nearest attraction for all tourist.
